Experience/knowledge with a programming language, such as JavaScript, Visual Basic, C++, Java, or PL/SQL.
Course Description:
With extensive hands-on exercises, not only this course provides students with the knowledge of UNIX system features, structures, and components, but it also gives students the working experience in the UNIX environment. Students will design, write, debug, and run Shell programs/scripts using the commonly used UNIX utilities and Shell statements. The UNIX file system internal and the Shell process life cycle are discussed in details. Hands-on exercises will re-enforce the covered concepts and commands. This course uses Linux as the operating environment.Textbook and Software:
The textbook used in this course is UNIX with Shell Programming (Seocnd Edition, 2001), published by UTI. Students will receive a copy of GNU Linux (a PC version of UNIX).Duration:
